As our country celebrates the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln on Feb. 12, we should also acknowledge the birthday of the father of the theory of evolution, Charles Darwin. Born on exactly the same day as Lincoln, the Great Liberator, Darwin also freed us.
Darwin was in the vanguard of those courageous men and women who are liberating humankind from its bondage to ignorance and superstition, just as Lincoln freed the slaves - and the slave owners - from the scourge of slavery.
