Comedian remembered at star-studded funeral in NYC
A funeral for Joan Rivers, comedian and the first woman to host a late-night broadcast talk show, was a star-studded affair held in New York on Sunday. In her 2012 book, I Hate Everyone ... Starting With Me, she hoped for “a huge showbiz affair with lights, cameras, action” and “Hollywood all the way.” Instead of a rabbi talking, Rivers asked for “Meryl Streep crying, in five different accents.”
Melissa Rivers and her son Cooper Endicott walk to a waiting car after the funeral service for comedian Joan Rivers Sunday at Temple Emanu-El in New York. Rivers died Thursday at 81.
