I have just spent five days at a most remarkable place. All my needs were met. I was safe and well cared for. The staff was caring, professional and courteous. No, I was not at Disneyland, but Mercy Regional Medical Center.
During my admission for a serious problem, I received excellent medical care, but it was the people that impressed me the most. This is our hometown hospital, and the staff members are our neighbors and friends. From the housekeepers to the doctors and nurses, I felt nothing but concern and compassion - all this from a nonprofit hospital that sees everyone regardless of their ability to pay. We are fortunate to have that choice in our town. I, for one, am grateful and better for it. Thanks, Mercy.
