Recent e-mails included a note from an acquaintance I had met briefly on a trip.
The note claimed she was in England, having problems, and needed $2,000.
Would I Moneygram or Western Union it to her at an address in England and she would pay me back on her return.
Worried, I tried her home phone in Tucson - and she was there and nowhere near England.
She said someone stole her password and all her contacts, all the addresses had been deleted from her files, and this was a scam. She was calling the police right after we spoke.
So, be on guard and keep your password secure.
